MESOTHERAPY - CELLULITE TREATMENTCellulite is a skin condition affecting 90% of women. Even those with a slim figure often complain about cellulite’s external visible symptoms – its lumpy, dimpled (cottage cheese) appearance. Cellulite commonly appears on the hips, buttocks and legs, but is not caused by being overweight, as many believe.
WHAT IS MESOTHERAPY? Cellulite is caused by a combination of poor circulation leading to lymphatic congestion and weakening of underlying connective tissue support of the skin. Mesotherapy is targeted to improve circulation, stimulate lymphatic flow, and strengthen connective tissue, while reducing volume, tightening and smoothing the overlying skin, and preventing further progression of cellulite. This technique was pioneered in France in 1952 and is the only known effective treatment to date for cellulite.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING TREATMENT? Mesotherapy is the practice of using microinjections of conventional or homeopathic medications and/or vitamins into the skin, to deliver healing or corrective treatment to a specific area of the body, in this case, specifically targeting cellulite. The area selected for treatment is marked in an alternating grid. Microinjections of medication are injected at each point in the grid. Following treatment, you may experience some discomfort, possibly swelling, itching and, infrequently, bruising.
HOW MANY MESOTHERAPY TREATMENTS WOULD I NEED? The number of Mesotherapy treatments needed depends on a number of factors, including the nature and severity of the condition. Most patients will require at least 4-5 treatment sessions to start seeing results. By session #5, the skin should appear smoother and more supple with a less “cottage cheese” appearance. By session #10, the volume of cellulite should be greatly reduced, which is often manifested by clothing becoming looser. Weight may remain unchanged. Once improvement is seen; treatment can be performed every 2 weeks, then monthly as required for maintenance.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF MESOTHERAPY? Improves blood flow in the targeted area. Breaks down fibrotic, hardened connective tissue. Improves lymphatic drainage. Smoothes and makes the skin more supple.
