CONTOUR THREAD LIFT (formerly FeatherLift)

The Cosmetic Laser & Vein Centre is very pleased to be the first clinic in Canada to offer the FeatherLift Facelift - an exciting, non-surgical procedure that can take years off your face! The FeatherLift FaceLift prodcedure has been replaced by the more effective Contour Thread Lift. The Contour Thread Lift uses local anaesthetic and surgical sutures material to reverse the pull of gravity and re-suspend facial tissues to reduce or eliminate lines, wrinkles and sagging around the eyes, cheeks, mouth, and jaw line - all for less than the cost of a traditional surgical facelift.

The threads are made from the same material as standard surgical sutures. The 'teeth' or 'barbs' on the threads, when worked under the skin, catch the tissue - creating vectors of pull which allow the surgeon to achieve the desired correction. The body uses its own collagen to surround the threads and anchor them in place. This non-surgical facelift procedure leaves no scars, requires no bandages, and greatly minimizes the down time associated with more traditional, surgical facelift procedures.

What's more, the threads provide resistant 'scaffolding' for the facial tissues that help minimize loss of skin tone and elasticity associated with aging and ease the pull of gravity. Patients can expect post-operative swealling to disappear in 6-10 days and after care is as simple as applying ice as needed. Optimal results are achieved in just a few days.

The Contour Thread Lift is ideal for busy, younger and middle aged patients; the entire procedure typically takes less than an hour (depending on the number of treatment areas). Again, after care  is as simple as applying ice as needed, and on treatment per area is usually all that is required to achieve the desired results.

Complications associated with the Contour Thread Lift procedure are rare, but can include the thread end working its way out of the entrance to the skin, the development of a pucker and infection. Each complication can be safely and easily remedied (the physician can remove the thread, massage the affected area and antibiotics take care of the infection).
